Ephesians 2:1-5

While we ARE to selflessly love the people of the world for the sake of their redemption, we are NOT to selfishly love the ethos of the world by means of our participation in it.

John 3:16-17, 17:15-16

Genuine love for God and an ongoing infatuation with earthly trivialities are incompatible.
