Ephesians: Life Together In Christ | Remembering the Church in Prayer (1:15-23)
Ephesians 1:15-23
2 Cor. 1:11 // Eph. 6:18
We should remember our church in our prayers…
- We should pray prayers of THANKFULNESS for our church.
Churches that preach the gospel faithfully (sound doctrine) and love people well (healthy culture) are increasingly rare.
Rom. 1:8 // 1 Cor. 1:4 // Phil. 1:3 // Col. 1:3 // 1 Thess. 1:2
- We should pray that our church would GROW in true KNOWLEDGE of and HOPE in God.
Genuine knowledge of God leads to right living before Him and genuine hope in God leads to a right degree of trust in Him.
Titus 1:1 // 1 Timothy 6:3 // 2 Cor. 7:1 // Heb. 10:23-24
- We should pray that our church would WALK in RESURRECTION POWER.
Our mission cannot be accomplished in the flesh because our objectives are supernatural.
1 Cor. 2:4-5 // 1 Cor. 4:20 // Col. 1:29 // John 6:63
We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services, but few conversions; much machinery, but few results… Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power. — R.A. Torrey
