Therefore: A Series on the Basic Measures of Gospel-Centered Disciples | Commitment to Community

Hebrews 10:19-27

Belief in the gospel has some very clear, lifealtering, absolute implications.

James 2:14-17 // John 14:15

Commitment to Community

“Sometimes people like to say that a church is a people, not a place- its slightly more accurate to say that a church is a people assembled in a place… Regularly gathering together is necessary for a church to be a church, just like a team has to gather to play in order to be a team. Jesus organized Christianity this way… Spiritual things happen when Christians stand elbow to elbow, breathe the same air, join our voices in song, hear the same sermon, and partake of one bread. You look around and think, ‘I’m not alone in this faith. What might we do together?’” — Jonathan Leeman

Biblical Community is largely assumed in the New Testament because the restoration of our communion with God logically unites us with His holy, covenant people.

I Corinthians 1:2 // Romans 1:7 // Philippians 1:1
